On Tuesday evening, July 30th, our community will have the opportunity to pay tribute to Irgun Shiurai Torah and its many lecturers and speakers at its 12th Annual Summer Dinner Event. Irgun Shiurai Torah is changing the face of Torah Judaism worldwide by organizing thousands of Torah events, seminars, lectures, shiurim, and classes all over the world. It has become the Jewish community’s number one resource for Torah education.
The event, which will be held at the Young Israel of Avenue K on East 29th Street in Flatbush, is scheduled for 7:00 PM. Mr. and Mrs. Yankie Feuereisen of Classic Caterers will sponsor a wonderful hot buffet. Ari Parnes and Reuven Wolf will be serving as Dinner hosts. Leibish Berkowitz, Abish Brodt, and Eli Goldbaum are Dinner Chairmen. A vibrant and inspiring program is planned. This year’s keynote speaker will be Hagaon Hachasid Rav Doniel Chaim Alter Shlita, Son of the “Pnei Menachem” of Ger, who will be flying in from Eretz Yisroel exclusively in honor of the dinner and in support of Irgun Shiurai Torah, Rav Avrohom Schorr Shlita Rav, Khal Tiferes Yaakov will inspire us with a timely message, Mi Lashem Ailay. Rav Shmuel Dishon, Shlita, will Deliver Divrei Chizuk as we approach the month of Elul. Many Rabbonim are planning to grace this event with their presence. The event is for men only.
As in years past, an all-new unique presentation will be shown with Gedolei Eretz Yisroel, featuring HaRav Aaron Leib Steinman, Shlita and HaRav Chaim Kanievsky, Shlita with a series of questions specially prepared for the year 5773. It promises to be a most riveting experience.
Irgun Shiurai Torah has become a massive Torah movement. Just consider the numbers. Over a thousand Rabbonim and Roshei Yeshiva give shiurim worldwide. Thousands of people participate in the summer evening shiurim in three separate locations as well as thousands more who attend the broadcast of the Flatbush shiurim throughout the United States and beyond. Over 5,000 men and bochurim attend the Bein Hazmanim program in many different locations worldwide. Over 50,000 people participate in the worldwide Shovavim Taharas Hamishpacha program annually. Over 55,000 shiurim were given worldwide in over 600 locations. All in all, at least ten million hours of Torah learning have been generated through the efforts of this outstanding organization.
