david sweat richard mattRichard Matt and David Sweat conducted a dry run of their prison escape the night before they fled, sources tell The New York Times.

The duo had begun sawing through their cells six months before the escape, Sweat is reported to have told investigators.

Others expected to be placed on leave include the deputy superintendent for security, a lieutenant, and several corrections officers, sources tell the Albany Times Union, and they may face administrative charges stemming from an FBI investigation into lax prison conditions leading up to the escape. Read more at The New York Times.
