mattis glickIt is with great sadness that we report the passing of habochur Mattisyahu Glick z”l. Mattis was a driver for the Monsey/Monroe Bus Company.

He was a son of the famed chazzan, R’ Nussen Glick.

Mattis, who lived in Brooklyn, was in Monsey last night and was waiting to drive a family back to Brooklyn after a wedding. When the bus didn’t arrive at the wedding hall, the family contacted the company, which tracked the bus to Kennedy Drive. It was about 4 a.m. when responders found Mattis on the bus, unresponsive. He apparently passed away from carbon monoxide poisoning, as the engine of the bus was running.

He was 33 years old.

glickMattis is survived by his parents, R’ Nussen and Mrs. Chaya Glick, and his siblings, R’ Shloime Glick, R’ Aaron Shmuel Glick, R’ Pinchos Mordche Glick, Yanky Glick, Shimmy Glick, Mrs. Rivky Hoffman, Mrs. Esty Mentzer, Mrs. Reizy Reichman, Mrs. Bruchy Jaroslawicz, and Chany Glick.

The family is sitting shivah at 1118 41st Street, between 11th Avenue and 12th Avenue in Boro Park until Monday morning

  1. BDE..WHAT A TRAGEDY? WAS THE CAUSE FOR THE CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING MECHANICAL? VERY UNUSUAL IF BUS WAS RUNNING OUTSIDE –NOT IN GARAGE….
