rechnitzIt is with great joy that Matzav.com takes this opportunity to wish mazel tov to Reb Shlomo Yehuda Rechnitz, one of our generation’s most noted philanthropists, askanim and baalei tzedakah, upon the engagement of his daughter, Etty, today in Los Angeles.

The chosson is Zevi Goldstein, son of Dr. and Mrs. Shmuel Goldstein of Cleveland, Ohio.

Dr. Goldstein is a famed cardiologist and the author of a classic book on electro-cardiology. He is a talmid chochom of note and delivers a daily Daf Yomi shiur at 5 a.m. each day.

Mrs. Goldstein’s father is Reb Mordechai Kriger, author of thirty volumes of chizuk and stories of chasdei Hashem and an active member of the real estate field. Interestingly, Reb Mordechai Kriger and the kallah‘s zaide, Rav Yisroel Belsky, were classmates many decades ago at Yeshiva Torah Vodaas.

Reb Shlomo Yehuda, father of the kallah, serves as chairman of the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation, among his many other positions of leadership. Over the last few years, he has made historic contributions financially to such well-known institutions as Yeshiva Torah Vodaas, Yeshivas Mir Yerushalayim, the Kamenitzer Yeshiva in Yerushalayim, and Torah Umesorah.

Reb Shlomo Yehudah has spent years in the healthcare and medical supply industry, using his hatzlachah to better the Torah world, both in his local Los Angeles community and beyond.

Reb Shlomo Yehudah’s wife, Tamar, is a daughter of Rav Yisroel Belsky, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Torah Vodaas, posek of the Kashrus Division of the Orthodox Union, and one of the gedolei haposkim in North America.

Reb Shlomo Yehuda is a son of Rabbi and Mrs. Yaakov Rechnitz.

Reb Shlomo Yehuda is world famed for his devotion to causes of Torah and chessed. He has raised the bar in giving and caring about yeshivos, kollelim, mosdos of every type and every stripe. He has publicly adopted many causes as his own and privately has helped hundreds of people. Dozens line up seeking aid, and he does his best to offer assistance to every person who reaches out to him.

His accomplishments are larger than life and legends abound about him, yet he remains humble and self-effacing.

Matzav.com wishes Reb Shlomo Yehuda and his wife continued success in all their endeavors and much Yiddishe nachas from the chosson and kallah and the rest of their family.

  1. Reb Shlomo Yehuda’s simcha is Klal Yisroel’s simcha. He carries Klal Yisroel’s concerns on his shoulders and so his simcha is ours.

    Mazel tov!

  2. Mazal Tov to such an amazing philanthropist. R Shlomo Rechnitz’s accomplishments are amazing.
