Mega Millions Ticket Sold in Toms River, Rumor About Lakewood Winner False

megamillionsRumors have been circulating that a Lakewood resident won the Mega Millions jackpot, after it was reported that the winning ticket was sold in Toms River, NJ, which neighbors Lakewood to the south. This rumor is not true, as Matzav.com has learned that a group of 10 workers from from Chubb Insurance in Whitehouse Station have been identified as the holders of the winning $216 million Mega Millions ticket sold in New Jersey. According to New Jersey Lottery spokesman Dominick DeMarco, the winning ticket was sold at a gas station in Toms River. The ticket was sold at Singin Oil. Store manager Taner Cetintas says he hasn’t been notified by lottery officials yet, but hopes his store sold the ticket.The winners stand to split about $8.1 million a year, before taxes, for the next 26 years as an annuity.

The cash option is worth about $140 million before Uncle Sam’s share is extracted.

The largest Mega Millions jackpot of $390 million was March 6, 2007, shared by winners in New Jersey and Georgia., according to CBS.

The winning numbers were: 26, 32, 35, 43, 52 and the Mega Ball was 10.
