Meretz MK: Change DST Now That Charedim Out Of Power

mk-nitzan-horowitzDaylight Saving Time, which begins this year tonight, must be lengthened until November, MK Nitzan Horowitz (Meretz) said Wednesday.

“Just extending DST until November 1 will decrease traffic accidents, save energy and most importantly give us all another hour of daylight,” Horowitz said. “This is the right thing to do, for the entire public in Israel.” Read more here.

Why did charedim pick the wrong fights, causing untold animosity? couldn’t they just keep out of issues such as these? is it really worth fighting over such a thing? This appears to be the reason the Torah is in such danger.

No.

All you have to do if you don’t like the seders starting later because of an earlier in the year daylight savings time is to start Shacharit an hour later.

And the fast of Yom Kippur is 25 hours long no matter what. Again, if you don’t like it starting later, start Shacharit an hour later.

There is a reason why Israelis stopped voting for Shas, they were totally inclusive and concerned with their community solely and only.
