The Jewish Education Project and Charidy aim to best $2.5M mark

Charidy.com and The Jewish Education Project are excited to announce the second Millions For Education Campaign beginning Tuesday, December 20th at 2:00pm EST in support of 10 day schools, almost all in the tri-state area. The return of this highly successful Giving Day marks the second 24-hour online crowdfunding campaign dedicated in support of Jewish schools and fundraising professionals.

“Giving days allow participating organizations to highlight their wonderful work to a larger audience,” explained Yehuda Kirsh, who serves as the giving day manager for Charidy.

Ten schools will participate this year, the same number that participated in the prior year’s inaugural “Millions For Education” event.

Millions For Education offers coaching and collaborative professional development to participating day school fundraising professionals. Participating schools also receive practical advice about securing matching grants for the Giving Day.

Each participating school has 3 matchers that are pledging to match a quarter of the predetermined goal, if the public contributes the final quarter within twenty-four hours–effectively quadrupling each donation. As an all-or-nothing campaign, the funds are only collected if the entire goal is met.

Last year’s 24-hour crowdfunding event raised over $1.8M for ten participating schools in 24 hours, exceeding the original goal by 20 percent. This year’s participants will aim to collectively raise $2.5 million dollars.

“The ‘Millions For Education’ Giving Day concept emerged from our effort to support collective problem-solving in Jewish education,” said Bryna Leider, Director of Educational Change Projects for The Jewish Education Project. “We’re excited to extend our proven collaborative approach to fundraising professionals, helping Jewish schools and educational institutions access the resources they need to provide an excellent and inspiring experience for students and families.”

The 24-hour Giving Day ends Wednesday, December 21 at 2:00 p.m. EST. To watch the live campaign visit https://www.charidy.com/millionsforeducation
