The chandelier fell when no one was in the room, as it was a few hours before Yom Kippur.

Mamesh mofsim. The chandelier was probably a gillgul of someone who wasn’t machshiv teffila and Yom Kippur, so he had to come crashing down but he wasn’t allowed to hurt anyone, so this was the pishara.
