egypt-morsiEgyptian President Mohammed Morsi told Al-Jazeera on Shabbos in an interview that he wouldn’t visit Israel, nor would he host an Israeli leader in Egypt, before peace is achieved between Israel and the Palestinians. Morsi also stressed Egypt’s commitment to the peace accords signed with Israel in 1979 as an expression of “the free will of the Egyptians.”

Morsi dismissed recent comments by Israeli Chief of Staff Benny Gantz that security coordination with Egypt was much better today than it was in the past.

“The security coordination has been going on for 30 years, it’s not new. Even enemy states coordinate on security matters to achieve stability along the border,” he said.

  1. Why should such a radical want to have an discussion with Israel, unless that became a condition for getting military and other aid from Western countries?

  2. unscrambled:

    we are enemy states
the government has no commitment to the peace treaty, it is a illusion of the people (the free will of people who are not really free)
the three NOs of Khartum are constitutionally enshrined values.

Morsi, can you say bye bye Sinai?
