har-hazeisimA Knesset committee hearing regarding internal security issues at Har Hazeisim revealed that the roads to the historic site present a mortal danger to travelers and pilgrims. Har Hazeisim holds one of the oldest Jewish cemeteries, and is the burial site of many gedolei Torah.

The discussion, which was mediated by Likud MK Miri Regev, opened with a statement from MK Avraham Michaeli (Shas) that he is “afraid to go to Har Hazeitim” and that “when you go there, you find yourself in mortal danger.”

Numerous rock-throwing attacks were launched against Jews visiting Har Hazeisim this September, who were davening at the site just before Rosh Hashanah. One New York family was attacked by rioting Arabs and eventually required hospitalization. Read more at Arutz Sheva.

  3. What is the new Police Station supposed to be there for ? It should be there to attract and give security to whomever goes to Har Hazeisim but obviously it doesn’t. I go there regularly as my late parents are buried there and so are many other Godlim and holy souls. THE KENNEST NEEDS TO UPGRADE IT’S SECURITY POLICY AND ENSURE THE SAFETY FOR VISITORS AT ALL TIMES.
