Mrs. Chana Scherman a”h
It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Mrs. Chana Scherman a”h, wife of Rabbi Nosson Scherman, longtime editor of ArtScroll/Mesorah Publications.
Mrs. Scherman is survived by a wonderful family of children and grandchildren, bnei and bnos Torah following in her ways. Her sons include Rav Yitzchok Zev Scherman, a noted mechanech in Brooklyn, Rabbi Ephraim Scherman of the Bais Bracha Girls School, and Reb Avi Scherman of Lakewood.
The levaya will take place today at noon at Shomrei Hachomos Chapels, located at 4218 Fort Hamilton Pkwy in Boro Park, Brooklyn.
The family will be sitting shivah at 1181 East 9th Street in Brooklyn.

A huge loss. Such a sweet, generous and warm woman. Just look at the family she produced to learn about who she was. The backbone of her husband. She is surely ascending very high with zechusim from millions of hours of Torah learned not to mention untold amount of chested she performed. A model for Jewish women to aspire to. May Hashem grant nechama to her family. Yehi Zichra Baruch.
