It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing this past Friday of Mrs. Faige Herzka a”h. She was 94.
Born in Hungary, she was a daughter of Menachem Mendel and Chanah Zucker and descended from a family that traces its roots to the famed Kol Aryeh.
A survivor of the Auschwitz concentration camp and the atrocities of the Holocaust, she immigrated from Europe to the United States, settling in New York and marrying her husband, Pinchos, with whom she built a upstanding family of bnei and bnos Torah.
Mrs. Herzka leaves behind her sister, Mrs. Rose Romerovksi, and her children, R’ Menachem Mendel Herzka, R’ Hashi Herzka and R’ Eli Herzka.
The family is sitting shivah until Friday afternoon at 1674 54th Street, between 16th and 17th Avenue, in Boro Park.
