It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Mrs. Hinda Tress a”h, wife of the legendary Reb Elimelech (Mike) Tress zt”l, the famed Agudah and Hatzolah leader.
Mrs. Tress was a remarkable woman, who served as an eizer kenegdo to her husband and was a partner in his historic work on behalf of the rabim and the yochid. Mrs. Tress was the matriarch of a wonderful family of marbitzei Torah, bnei Torah, askonim, and leaders of their respective communities.
Mrs. Tress is survived by her children, Rav Shmuel Boruch Tress, Rav Tzvi Tress, Rav Mendel Tress, Mrs. Hennie Meisels, Mrs. Eskie Reidel, Mrs. Leah Bloch, Mrs. Danya Pichey, Mrs. Shevy Jundef, Mrs. Devorah Tropper and Mrs. Basie Rosenblatt, as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren following in her ways. She was predeceased by her son, Rav Avrohom Gershon Tress.
The levaya will take place today, at 10:30 a.m., at Sarah Schneirer Seminary, located at 4622 14th Avenue, at 47th Street, in Boro Park, Brooklyn.
