candle-small6It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Mrs. Lifsha Feldman a”h of Yerushalayim, wife of Rav Shlomo Feldman, a noted talmid chochom and mechaber seforim. Mrs. Feldman, who was 45, is a daughter of Harav Efraim Zuravin of Staten Island, rosh kollel of Kollel Ahavas Torah V’Chesed in Lakewood. Rav Shlomo Feldman is a son of Harav Aharon Feldman, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Ner Yisroel in Baltimore and member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of Agudas Yisroel and the Vaad Roshei Hayeshivos of Torah Umesorah.

The tragic passing of Mrs. Feldman after she suffered cardiac arrest this morning has left the community in shock. Her legacy of selfless chesed, chashivus for Torah and unwavering emunah will be carried on by her dear family.

new-pictureIn 1998, Mrs. Feldman and her mother, Rebbetzin Hadassah Zuravin, founded the Meshi Childhood Development Center, when they refused to accept a neurologist’s dire prognosis for Mrs. Feldman’s daughter, Ruchama. Begun in partnership with Alyn Hospital, Meshi has set a new standard in the care of special needs children. Today, the school serves more than 140 children in the greater Yerushalayim area. Meshi is recognized by Kupat Cholim, Israel’s health care system, as one of Yerushalayim’s prime evaluation and therapy centers for children with special needs.

Mrs Feldman is survived by her illustrious husband and their ten children.

May we know of no further tzaar.
