Mrs. Rumia Yitzchak a”h, Mother of Rav Amnon Yitzchak

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Mrs. Rumia Yitzchak a”h, mother of Rav Amnon Yitzchak.

Mrs. Yitzchak, who was 75, passed away at Tel Hashomer Medical Center after being hospitalized with severe pneumonia.

Mrs. Yitzchak’s husband, Rav Yachya Zechriah Yitzchak is now hospitalized at Ichilov Medical Center with acute pneumonia, which he has been battling for days.

The levaya was held late last night at the Shamgar funeral home in Yerushalayim followed by kevurah on Har Hamenuchos.

Rav Amnon Yitzchak and his brother, Rav Uri, will be sitting shivah at 6 Rechov Yosef in the Bayit Vegan neighborhood of Yerushalayim.

Rav Amnon Yitzchak, who is 59, is renowned for his involvement in kiruv through his ‘Shofar’ organization and via lectures in various media and on the internet. Rav Amnon was born in Tel Aviv to a Yemenite Jewish family and became religious at the age of 24 after stumbling across a sefer Kitzur Shulchan Aruch that he received for his bar mitzvah.
