It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Mrs. Shulamis Bluming a”h. She was 70 years old.

Mrs. Bluming was the wife of Rav Yaakov Peretz Bluming, a noted talmid chochom and author of Rambam Ha’aruch. She was a daughter of Rav Gedaliah Schorr zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Torah Vodaas.

Mrs. Bluming was an outstanding mechaneches who worked for years at Bais Yaakov of Boro Park.

The levayah was held yesterday.

Mrs. Bluming is survived by her husband, Rav Yaakov Peretz Bluming; her children, R’ Shmuel Chaim Bluming, R’ Avrumi Bluming, R’ Nechemya Bluming, R’ Gedalya Bluming, R’ Yossi Bluming, R’ Yitzy Bluming, Malky Weinstock, Mati Wolf, Yocheved Rappaport; and her siblings, Rav Yitzchok Meir Schorr, maggid shiur at Yeshiva Torah Vodaas; Rav Refoel Schorr, rosh yeshiva at Yeshivas Vizhnitz, rov of Bais Medrash Tiferes Gedalyahu in Monsey, and author of Mishnas Halevi; Rav Yisroel Simcha Schorr, rosh yeshivah of Yeshiva Ohr Somayach of Monsey and one of the General Editors of the English and Hebrew translations of Artscroll’s Schottenstein Edition of the Talmud; Rav Avrohom Schorr, rov of Bais Medrash Nezer Gedalyahu in Brooklyn; Mrs. Devorah Leah Zilberberg, Mrs. Nomi Hershberg, and Mrs. Avigail Freshwater.

  1. Interesting that you mention the nifteres’ first name but you won’t mention the Kalla’s (previous article) first name. Apparently a woman has to be dead before the heiliger kinderlach that run Matzav, will mention their name. What a bizayon. Women are 2nd class?

  2. to “Change is needed”: The previous article DOES mention the first name of the Kallah.. Look again. Women are NOT 2nd class – relax!
