Beit Shemesh extremists recently assaulted a chareidi soldier verbally and physically, only desisting when police came to his rescue. This was the latest of dozens of similar attacks against chareidi soldiers.

Col. Yonasan Baranski, head of the Nachal Chareidi Association, called upon the police to take firmer action against such incidents.

“Experience shows that ignoring these people only increases their appetite and makes them more brazen,” he said. “The time has come to end this. On a personal note, I would like to add that from my acquaintance with the victim, I can sincerely say that his yiras shomayim and his attachment to Torah are incomparably greater than those of the assailants.”

In other words, some people only understand brute force, and you have to speak their language to get your point across.
