Nadvorna Rebbe Undergoes Successful Surgery

nadvornaToday, at about noon, the Nadvorna Rebbe underwent surgery at Ichilov Medical Center to remove a tumor and doctors say that the procedure was a success. The Rebbe was not awake during the 2-hour surgery performed by Dr. Tzvi Ram, chief of neurosurgery at Ichilov. During the surgery, the tumor was removed and sent for a laboratory test.

Nadvorna Chassidim across Eretz Yisroel gathered in Bnei Brak, at the Kosel in Yerushalayim, at Kever Rochel, in Meron, in Beitar Illit and in Elad to daven for the Rebbe.

The surgery was scheduled after the Rebbe had complained of fatigue, an inability to concentrate, and a headache that would not go away. A CT scan did not show anything, but a subsequent MRI revealed the tumor.
All are asked to continue davening for Rav Yaakov Yissochor Ber ben Sima Raizel.

  1. There are quite a few people with the title Nadvorna Rebbe. Ditto with the title Spinka Rebbe. To a lessser degree, the situation of more than one Rebbe having the same title applies with other Chassidusen too.

Just like if you would talk about Satmar Rebbe and Vizhnitzer Rebbe, where there are two, you would say which one you mean, and not just say stam ‘Satmar/Vizhnitzer Rebbe’, similarly (even more so) in a case like this, more information should be given (even though it is true that you gave more later in the story, where his name was given, still, I think it should be clarified more and earlier as to who exactly the story is about).

  2. We wish the Rebbe a refuah shleima and will daven to Hakadosh Baruch Hu for his continued recovery. The article was well written. There was no mention of hocus pocus, of anyone saying that the rebbe knew beruach hakodesh that he had a tumor,or that the doctors are robotic shluchei hashem to heal the rebbe but they themselves get no credit.
We need more pieces that recognize the truth as it is. Give thanks to the doctors and the staff who saved the rebbe’s life. Pray to God who decides who ultimately will be healed and who not.
