Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu arrived at the Likud headquarters in Tel Aviv on Tuesday night to celebrate with hundreds of activists.

“You remember 23 years ago, it was the first time that Sara and I stood here, and here we are doing it again, thanks to you and for you!” he said.

“I’m very excited tonight, it’s a night of tremendous victory. I’m telling you – this is a huge achievement, almost inconceivable. Under impossible conditions, the Likud has grown dramatically.”

“The people of Israel again showed their trust in me, for the fifth time, and even greater trust.”

  1. Why a victory and a tremendous one no less for Bibi if he’s tied with Gantz at 97% count? Can Gantz not still come out the winner?

    • Because the vast majority of Israeli voters said ‘yes’ to another term for Bibi,
By voting for the Likud, the Chareidi parties and the other right wing parties, who declared before the elections that they will go with Bibi.

  2. The Charedim are the big winners.

There is no conceivable way to form a coalition without them and the Likud.

Ganz could never make a coalition including both Lieberman and co and the Arab parties because what could he possibly do to satisfy both groups?

Therefore he either needs the Charedim to join him or try for the Likud which is very unlikely to agree to make a coalition deal with him.
