Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry met in Rome on Monday to discuss an upcoming Palestinian resolution that asks the U.N. Security Council to outline the terms of a final peace deal with Israel.
If passed, the Palestinian-backed U.N. arrangement would set a November 2016 deadline for Israeli pullout from the West Bank, which would bring Israel’s borders back to pre-1967 lines. Both Israel and the U.S., however, oppose any territorial plan that is not reached through direct Israeli-Palestinian negotiations.
“The American government has backed our policy for 47 years that any solution between us and the Palestinians will be done through negotiations. … I don’t see any reason that would change,” Netanyahu told reporters after the meeting, according to Bloomberg News.
Netanyahu did not say whether Kerry has given him a commitment that the U.S. will use its veto power to stop the Palestinian resolution, which will come up for a vote on Wednesday. Kerry did not comment on the meeting with Netanyahu, opting to save his remarks for after he meets with Palestinian leaders in London on Tuesday.

The first step for Bibi is to stop calling these people “Palestinians” because it gives cachet to the claim of “Palestine” a country which has not existed for more than a thousand years, and a non-existent nationality.
They are both in a lame duck session. nothing they say has any meaning.
