Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday at the cabinet meeting that Raja Za’atara’s appointment as deputy mayor of Haifa should be canceled over his opinions of the State of Israel.

“I tried to get the mayor of Haifa Einat Kalish to ask her to cancel the appointment of the deputy mayor who supports Hezbollah and Hamas, and I hope she will accept the request.”

The Prime Minister added that he is “happy that our friend Aryeh Deri has already begun to deal with this issue, and I know that many others have expressed it. This is unacceptable and because it is unacceptable, it will not take place, I am convinced of it. ”

In an interview with Radio 103 this morning, Zathara repeated his remarks and insisted that “Da’ash did ethnic cleansing and the Zionist movement did ethnic cleansing in 1948, I do not reveal anything new.”

Earlier, Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon himself told Channel 20 that “there is no place in the public system for a person who represents inciting opinions in his behavior against the State of Israel.” Meanwhile, Eli Debi, founder of the “My Brother Forever” organization of more than 6,000 bereaved siblings, turned to Einat Kalish Rotem, demanding that he not be appointed.
