Israeli Prime Minister Bibi today refuted claims that he was stopping efforts to move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Yerushalayim, after Marc Zell, the head of the Republican Party branch in Israel, claimed as much in an Army Radio interview.
“The opposite is true,” a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office read. “Israel’s position on this issue is known: Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and the US Embassy, as all other embassies, should be in Jerusalem,”
Netanyahu later told his cabinet, “The position of Israel has been, and always will be, that the US Embassy should be here, in Yerushalayim,” he said. It’s appropriate that all the other embassies should move to Yerushalayim as well.”
