palestinians-idfIsraeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu said today that the three missing Israeli teens, including one with dual-American citizenship, were kidnapped by Hamas.

His announcement follows the overnight arrest of 80 Palestinians, including senior Hamas operatives, as reported by Matzav.com Israel.

At the opening of his weekly cabinet meeting, Netanyahu said, “Those who perpetrated the abduction of our youths were members of Hamas – the same Hamas that Abu Mazen made a unity government with; this has severe repercussions.”

Gilad Shaar, 16, Eyal Yifrach, 19, and Naftali Frenkel, 16, who is also an American, have been missing since Thursday night when they tried to get a ride home from their religious school in Gush Etzion, south of Yerushalayim.

A high-ranking official with Israeli Central Command said that they are believed to be in the West Bank, but he is not fully certain. He said security forces are focusing on Hamas infrastructure in the southern West Bank. At least 2,000 Israeli troops have been mobilized to locate the missing teens.

Right after the abduction, one of the teens managed to call the police hotline and say “We’ve been kidnapped.” Among those arrested was former Hamas spokesman Hassan Yousef. Read more.
