New AP History to Downplay Slavery in HS

slaveryThe newly redesigned framework for the Advanced Placement course in U.S. History for high school students will see a lot less mention of the word “slavery” and an entire new section devoted to “American exceptionism,” according to an official close to the college exam board.

The decision comes after a major pushback from conservatives who felt the material focused too much on negative aspects in American history.

Some GOP members claimed it was so anti-American students would be “ready to sign up for ISIS.” Read more at Newsweek.

  1. Disgusting. Slavery resulted in a Civil War that cost the lives of hundreds of thousands of Americans, and 19th century Exceptionalism resulted in genocide against Native Americans. PC run amuk.
