In a continuation of the phenomenal growth of Kiryas Yoel in Monroe, a new bais medrash was established on Shabbos Parshas Shekalim on Strelisk opposite Wieder Drive, in Section 1. The rov of the new Cheshnover Beis Medrash is Rav Shlomo Rubin, son of Rav Chaim Yaakov Rubin, Cheshnover Rav in Boro Park and Rosh Yeshiva at the Boro Park Satmar Yeshiva.Rav Chaim Yaakov is a son of Rav Sholom Yechezkel Rubin-Halberstam, zt”l, Cheshnover Rebbe in Boro Park, who in turn was a son of Rav Aryeh Leibish Rubin Hy”d, Tomashover-Cheshnover Rebbe who died in Siberia during the Holocaust.
Rav Aryeh Leibish was a son-in-law and successor of Rav Simcha Yissochor Ber Halberstam zt”l, Cheshnover Rebbe and author of Divrei Simcha, son of Rav Yechezkel Shraga Halberstam, zt”l, Shiniva Rebbe and author of Divrei Yechezkel, who was a son of Rav Chaim Halberstam, zt”l, revered Sanzer Rebbe and author of Divrei Chaim. The Divrei Simcha was a son-in-law of Rav Yehoshua Rokeach zt”l, second Belzer Rebbe.
Rav Shlomo Rubin, the new rov, is a son-in-law of Rav Dovid Meisels, rov of the Satmar kehillah in Montreal. Rav Dovid is a son-in-law of the Berach Moshe of Satmar.
