New Candidate For Yerushalayim Mayor

0

Attorney Yossi Havilio, Yerushalayim’s former municipal legal adviser, announced that he plans to run for mayor in the October election.

In the past, Havilio legally represented secular residents who accused the mayor of doing too little to stop chareidim from moving into secular neighborhoods. Havilio said that during Barkat’s nine years, the city regressed in almost every possible issue and many neighborhoods went through an accelerated process of becoming more chareidi.

His family has lived in the city since the Spanish Expulsion.
