gasNo wonder sales of hybrids and fuel-efficient cars are rising. Today, AAA announced that for the 1,000th straight day, the average price of gasoline in the U.S. is more than $3 a gallon. In fact, it’s worse than it sounds: the average is $3.52. And oddly, it comes at a time when domestic oil production is soaring and consumption is falling.

The new state of normal for Americans has already had lasting consequences: greater use of public transportation, efforts by automakers to increase gas mileage, and a record number of disbelieving eye-rolls at the pump. Read more at USA Today.

  1. The whole thing is a scandal. We are now happy when gas goes DOWN near three dollars. That is after paying about 1 dollar for about 20 straight years. It is a scam. There is an abundance of fuel and usage is down. The Arabs are lining their pockets. So are the fuel companies. And no one is doing anything about it.

Well, I guess you should be used to that in our communities. The rest of the world is now realizing how gullible the cults in the US (especially in Brooklyn) really are. Just add the gas crisis to the self inflicted (imaginary) crises such as tuition, shidduch, kashrus, etc. that you have so graciously accepted. The common denominator is always (shhhhh!) MONEY!
