N.J. Police Issue 858 Tickets in Five Hours in Aggressive-Driving Crackdown

nj-policePolice in New Jersey issued 858 tickets within five hours in an aggressive-driving enforcement crackdown spanning five counties, a report in the Record said.

About 80 officers from departments in Passaic, Bergen, Morris, Essex and Sussex counties participated in the crackdown that also resulted in at least 10 arrests, according to the report. The 858 summonses, including tickets for not wearing a seat belt, speeding and texting, occurred between 9 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Shabbos, the report said.

  1. Good on them. Maybe some of these idiots will think the next time they feel tempted to speed, or take their eyes off the road to text. (BTW, how do you text and keep your hands on the steering wheel, anyway?)

    You and I just may have it a little safer next time we hit the road in NJ.
