mohammad-abu-khudair-protestsSome Jewish groups have publicly linked the death of Arab teen Mohammad Abu Khudair to revenge for the recent murder of the three Jewish teens, before the completion of an Israeli police investigation into how Khudair died.

Khudair was found dead in Jerusalem on Wednesday.

“The circumstances of his death remain uncertain, but it appears that Mohammed was not a party to nor instigator of the tragic events of recent days and weeks. But he now has paid the ultimate price regardless,” Jewish Council for Public Affairs (JCPA) President Rabbi Steve Gutow said in a statement Wednesday.

Union for Reform Judaism President Rabbi Rick Jacobs said, “We are shocked by the news today (Wednesday) of the apparent abduction and murder of an Arab teen and the suspicion that this horrid act may be motivated by those seeking vengeance for the deaths of Naftali Frenkel, Gilad Shaar, and Eyal Yifrach.”

United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism CEO Rabbi Steven Wernick said Thursday, “When I learned that an Arab teen was murdered in Jerusalem, apparently in retaliation for the murder of three Jewish teens, my mind went immediately to the words of Torah we will read in a few weeks: Tzedek, tzedek tirdof, ‘Justice, justice shall you pursue.’ This admonition, perhaps the essence of Jewish values, is part of a legal framework prescribed in the Torah that resonates to this day-a vision of a society ruled by laws, not vengeance, and of ‘equal justice under law.'”

The Anti-Defamation League said it “strongly condemned a possible revenge killing of an Arab teen from East Jerusalem, along with an alarming surge of incendiary calls for revenge by some Israelis, which have followed the discovery and burial of the three Israeli teens abducted by Palestinians.”

Among the Jewish groups, the JCPA-which did not immediately respond to a request from JNS.org for a clarification of its statement-seemed to receive the most criticism for its remarks.

“Why was the Jewish Council compelled to issue this statement within less than 12 hours after news broke and without any investigation by Israeli National Police?” asked Helen Freedman, executive director for Americans for a Safe Israel, in an email.

Lori Lowenthal Marcus, U.S. correspondent for The Jewish Press, noted that the JCPA “put out a public statement less than 24 hours after the [Arab teen’s] death was discovered” and that the group “presented itself as judge, jury, and sound system with a verdict of guilt for Israel.”

“Why the rush? It took the JCPA three days to condemn the kidnapping of the three Israeli teenagers. Perhaps that was due to an abundance of caution-one would not want to falsely accuse anyone. If so, why the different standard here?” wrote Marcus.

The U.S. government was also quick to imply that the Arab teen’s death resulted from a revenge attack.

“The world has too often learned the hard way that violence only leads to more violence and at this tense and dangerous moment, all parties must do everything in their power to protect the innocent and act with reasonableness and restraint, not recrimination and retribution,” U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said Wednesday.

In addition to the potential motive of revenge, Israeli police are reportedly investigating the possibility that Khudair was murdered by members of his own family in an “honor killing.”

  1. Like the Nazis of 1935(see article re Hessy Taft) these Jews who follow in Nazi footsteps should be exposed for what they are.

  2. the father in his fitrst interview condradicted his wife who said jews did it.
FATHER SAID NO ARABS DID IT.

NOW HE SAID JEWS DID IT

the family had many troubles with the law
The father said that there were a few attempted kidnappiong on his son…

  3. Non-frum self-hating Jews gloat over stories against religious Jews even though most of the time it’s one big lie, like now.

Here’s the truth, but the secular and Arabs would still prefer to stick to blaming Jews.

Murdered Arab Youth’s Parents ‘Gave Contradicting Statements’

… On Tuesday, police said, the mother called police to say that “settlers” had tried to kidnap her younger son. She said that individuals had stopped a car in front of her house where she was sitting with her son, and that they tried to grab him. She managed to hold onto him, she said, and they left, at which point she called police.

Officers arrived a few minutes later to take her statement, in which she said “settlers” had tried to kidnap her son, but could give no details. However, a few minutes later the father arrived, and he disputed his wife, saying that it was Arabs who tried to kidnap the son.

Police asked the father if he was positive regarding the identity of the would-be kidnappers, and he said he was. When they asked him to file a police complaint, he said he would, but that he would come down to the police station later on to do so in order to be able to comfort his son. He never showed up, police said, who contacted him several times asking him to file the complaint – but to no avail.

When asked on Israel Radio as to the identity of the kidnappers, Mohammed’s father said he did not know – but that it should be an easy matter for police to figure it out, because their images were captured on video by one of the many security cameras in the area.

“All they have to do is put the pictures on TV and I am sure someone will identify them,” he said….

  5. We know that our worst enemies come from within. Secular Jews who lean to the left are no less anti-semitic than non-Jewish anti-semites. This is another clear blood libel by the enemies of religious Jews. This crime was undoubtedly committed by the arabs as an honor killing, using this poor victim to smear the Jews and they are getting help from these Jewish useful idiots (reform, leftists, etc.) The boy’s father at first admitted that it was an arab that kidnapped him, but later retracted his statement (was surely threatened). Religious Jews would never burn the body. An obvious frameup. This is the work of pere adam.

  6. What hypocrisy! What a ludicrous response! The United Synagogue Conservative Judaism CEO, representing an organization that does not fall within the bounds of “Osei Maaseh Amcha” self righteously quotes “tzedek, tzedek tirdof!” Where is the tzedek in such an organization, the overwhelming najority of whose members openly violate shmiras Shabbos and the laws of Kashrus? Furthermore, “tzedek” connotes pursuing an investigation and not jumping to conclusions as to the cause of this act, as this individual has done!

  7. I have seen the photo of this gentle-looking and quiet-looking Arab boy and I believed that he had likely been murdered by fellow Arabs for criminal motives. I hope there is no truth to the recent news reports.
