obamaAs President Barack Obama prepares for his State of the Union address Tuesday night, he has already lost his audience, writes Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan.

“When I imagine Barack Obama’s State of the Union, I see a handsome, dignified man standing at the podium and behind him Joe Biden, sleeping. And next to him John Boehner, snoring. And arrayed before the president the members, napping,” Noonan wrote Thursday.

“No one’s really listening to the president now. He has been for five years a nonstop wind-up talk machine. Most of it has been facile, bland, the same rounded words and rounded sentiments, the same soft accusations and excuses.”

Noonan continued, “Looking back on this presidency, it has from the beginning been a 17,000 word New Yorker piece in which, calmly, sonorously, with his lovely intelligent voice, the president says nothing, or little that is helpful, insightful or believable.”

  1. Its not that no one is listening, its that no one likes what we are hearing.

I guess Mr. Obama is ready to infiltrate America with more special sauce. I just do not think it will make the speech taste any better when Mr. Obama continues to suggest that things like marijuana are an acceptable way of life. Poverty runs in its own ear of savings. Never Again.

  2. glad he has lost his audience.

I think he should pack himself (mouth included) up & go home. (I think most of people would agree)

Since he became president he has only caused damage or negative effects. how many of us reading this can sending me back ANY positive he has done in the 5 years of being president?

The country economy has gone from bad to worse & we don’t want the next 3 years to make it become a destroyed country etc… C”V

WHY HASN’T HE BEEN IMPEACHED YET? what are we waiting for? guess you’ll need to relax (just like me) & sit down for the next 3 years until his time is up.

  3. Peggy, you sound a bit bitter. You should place your frustration with the weakling Republicans who keep putting up losers, like Dole, McCain, & Romney!
