Police say a man died after being stunned with a Taser gun while fighting with police officers at his mother’s Long Island home. Police say they’re investigating the death of Darryl Bain, who had locked himself and his elderly mother in her Coram home early this morning.
Police say Bain’s brother called 911 alleging that the 43-year-old was high on cocaine. Officers got to the house about 2:46 a.m.
Hearing Bain struggle with his mother, police say officers entered the house and fought with him. He was temporarily stunned after being shot with a Taser.
Police say he continued to struggle as they handcuffed him. He stopped breathing moments later.
The Suffolk County medical examiner’s office will determine the cause of death.
