nycNew York City is looking to make the hot days of summer a little more comfortable. Mayor Michael Bloomberg on Sunday announced a new program that will bring portable water stations to public spaces around the city this summer.

The Water-On-The-Go program will connect the stations to fire hydrants so that people can take drinks or fill water bottles. They’ll also have water bowls for pets.

The 10 stations will rotate through locations around the city like Times Square and Brooklyn Bridge Park through Labor Day Weekend.

  1. This isn’t just a matter of comfort – in the heat NYC is experiencing this week drinking water is a necessity to keep off heatstroke.

Cheers for the mayor this time (even though I don’t like him).
