Piles of snow are still covering New York City, but garbage and recycling collection is back in effect. The city Department of Sanitation said limited collection will restart on Monday.
Commissioner John Doherty asked New Yorkers to make sure sanitation crews had a clear path to pick up whatever needs collecting. He also said residents should dig out any bags and pails that have been buried under the snow.
The FDNY is also reminding residents to dig out their fire hydrants.
Another storm system is also headed to the Tri-State area. AccuWeather said snow will develop late Monday and continue into Tuesday with an inch or two of accumulation.
The snow may also mix with sleet and freezing drizzle Tuesday afternoon.
