A New York Police Department officer claims he was disciplined by his superiors for stopping too few black and Hispanic teens on the subway.
Michael Birch, an officer in Brooklyn’s District 34, said he recorded a meeting in which his bosses told him he was stopping more women and white people, as opposed to minorities.
Birch filed a lawsuit that alleges he was deprived of overtime, given poor assignments, and had his work monitored as a result. Read more at the New York Daily News.
