The New York City Police Department is investigating a threatening voice-mail that was left over Shabbos on a Jewish family’s home phone.

The 30 second voicemail, reports Mark Hirshberg for JP Updates, was left late Friday night on the answering machine from a Jewish family in the Kensington section of Brooklyn.

The man who left the voicemail said, ”I hate rabbis. I hate Williamsburg. I hate Borough Park. I hate them all. You know what? Tomorrow, we gonna shoot rabbis one by one. We gonna shoot up Borough Park. We gonna shoot up Williamsburg. We gonna shoot up Sunset Park.”

A family member called the police on Motzoei Shabbos and shared a recording of the voicemail with the NYPD.

investigators believe the voicemail was a hoax and there is no credible threat to any rabbi, but the Hate Crime Task Force unit are conducting an investigation to track down the caller.

  1. If a similar threat was made against other groups, NYPD and FBI would have been all over it. Looks like all these hate crime laws are almost never applied to clearly antisemitic crimes. Police is refusing to perform their function when it comes to defend our community. When the then present ambulance services proved inadequate, Hatzolah was formed. Perhaps it’s time to form a well regulated armed militia as specified in the US Constitution – will be stuck in courts for years, but the right to form and join a militia is clearly there.
