Obama Announces Letterman Appearance On Day He Snubbed Netanyahu

obama-lettermanPresident Barack Obama will soon be visiting one of his biggest fans – late night talker David Letterman.

The president will chat with the “Late Show” host during a trip to New York City next week, according to the National Journal.

Letterman’s nightly monologues mostly spare the president from satirical ribbing, saving his most cutting remarks for the Romneys … or even former President George W. Bush.

The news came on the same day Obama told Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu he couldn’t meet with him due to a scheduling conflict.

The interview will be the second Obama has had with Letterman since the comic made a demeaning joke about former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s daughter. Letterman later apologized.

  1. “The news came on the same day Obama told Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu he couldnÂ’t meet with him due to a scheduling conflict.”

This “fact” has been denied by both Israel and the US: there was no request from Netanyahu so there was no decline from Obama. In fact, they spoke by phone for an hour earlier this week.

  2. Please! It’s Erev Rosh Hashana. Can’t Matzav stick to news and leave the tv/entertainment field to other sites? I come to this site so that I don’t have to read about the late night Nevala!

  3. Rabosai,

We are maaminim, u’bnei maaminim. We know that Yesh Din v’Yes Dayan. Obama will pay for both what he did AND for what he should have done, but chose not to do.

  4. the only problem with both your headline and content of your article is – that it is not true and very misleading.
Obama did not snub or turn down a request to meet with prime minister netanyahu. no such request was ever made for a face to face meeting. The story was first reported by an Israeli media publication that apparently got wrong information from an unnamed blind source. Both the obama administartion and the Netanyahu administration have denied that such a request was made.
