Obama Bans Solitary for Juveniles

Using his power of executive action, President Barack Obama on Monday banned solitary confinement for juvenile offenders in the federal prison system.

The new rules also state that guards cannot use solitary as a punishment for inmates’ “low-level infractions.” Read more at The Washington Post.

  1. Silly me thought that there was a separation of powers, with Congress being the legislative branch. By the way, the Congress derives its powers from we the people, and therefore not free to delegate their powers to anyone else; can’t give away something that belongs to we the people, as the legislative power was only “loaned” to the Congress, so to speak, so as to have the order of the republic while not abandoning the democracy. Well, silly me.
