obama-netanyahuPresident Obama spoke to Prime Minister Netanyahu today and reiterated his commitment to Israel’s security.

The President made clear that no country can be expected to tolerate rocket attacks against civilians.

He expressed his appreciation for the Prime Minister’s efforts to work with the new Egyptian government to achieve a sustainable ceasefire and a more durable solution to this problem.

Obama commended the Prime Minister for agreeing to the Egyptian ceasefire proposal – which the President recommended the Prime Minster do – while reiterating that Israel maintains the right to defend itself.

Obama said that the United States would use the opportunity offered by a ceasefire to intensify efforts to help Israel address its security needs, especially the issue of the smuggling of weapons and explosives into Gaza.

The President also said that he was committed to seeking additional funding for Iron Dome and other US-Israel missile defense programs.

  1. Israel doesn’t need Obama’s chizuk – WE HAVE HASHEM ON OUR SIDE – let the US send more arms to Israel including Iron Domes .
and stop the AID to the terrorists so they can’t buy these rockets

  2. One has to give this president a lot of credit, he is showing to be a real friend of Israel. Was not a big fan of him and did not vote for him in neither election, but he sure has my sincere appreciation for being so supportive of Israel.

  3. Is Obama doing Teshuvah, even though he isn’t running for any more elections?
Or is he tired of many people hating him for going against American allies and siding with his brothers our enemies?
Or did some sense land in his head because Lev Melochim B’Yad Hashem?!

  4. Where are all the naysayers ? The ones that cursed Obama out that his last term would be anti Israel? The silence is deafening. When he criticizes Israel, they are loud noise makers, yet when he stands up for Israel, they are quiet. For shame

  5. He called to reiterate his support for Israel’s security while he forced him to attack against Israel’s security.
The President is very adept at saying something contrary to what he does or did and keeping a straight face.
    Feh.

  6. Heres a naysayer. Whats the big deal that Obama “allowed”Israel to defend themselves against Hamas?! There were 100s of rockets being fired. It was a davar pashut that Israel would defend themselves in such a situation regardless of what Obama said. Additionally the US recognizes Hamas as a terrorist entity so what would it say if America didnt allow Israel to defend itself? Its a very delicate balance Obama has to walk. Hating Israel while not being obvious about it.

To me, the fact that he pushed so hard for a ceasefire at a time when Israel had an opportunity to really weaken Hamas shows his TRUE feelings and whos side he is really on. You know why they are celebrating in Gaza? Because for once they were scared, really scared that Israel would give them what they deserve. But at the last second Obama and Clinton ruined it for Israel. Now Hamas can rearm. Put new people into power and learn from their mistakes from this Israeli operation so next time Israel will be less able to strike targets.
