U.S. President Barack Obama, flanked by guest observers including U.S. Representative Mike Simpson (R-ID) (L), delivers remarks before signing the Sawtooth National Recreation Area and Jerry Peak Wilderness Additions Act into law at his desk in the Oval Office at the White House in Washington August 7, 2015. The law sets aside 275,665 acres (1,116 square km) of Idaho's Boulder-White Clouds Wilderness to be permanently protected from development. REUTERS/Jonathan ErnstIn an interview with NPR one year after unarmed black teenager Michael Brown was gunned down by a white police officer in Ferguson, Mo., President Obama says he feels a “great urgency” to address race. Obama said he doesn’t “buy” the notion that political considerations in his first term kept him from efficiently addressing the issue of race.

“Here’s one thing I will say: That I feel a great urgency to get as much done as possible,” Obama said. “And, there’s no doubt that after over six and a half years on this job, I probably have an easier time juggling a lot of different issues. And, it may be that my passions show a little bit more. Just because I have been around this track for now for a while.” Read more at NPR.

  1. Nobody has caused more racial tension in this country than the man in the white house. His arrogance and the notion of his way or the highway has really irritated many Americans but have given his brothers the feeling of entitlement. How about Obsma cutting some of the programs for his boys and giving some back to the hard working middle class. Do I sound like a bigot I probably do but then again I don’t sound any worse than Obama
