obama-golf1President Barack Obama said in an interview that aired today that he should have foreseen the criticism that would come from going golfing after making a statement on the beheading of journalist James Foley.

“I should have anticipated the optics,” he told NBC’s “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd in an exclusive interview on Saturday. “That’s part of the job.”

Obama spoke out last month soon after Islamic State militants released a video of Foley being beheaded. The president promised the U.S. would “vigilant” and “relentless” in its response.

He earned criticism for going golfing later that afternoon. Obama was on a trip with his family to Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts.

  1. When will he realize it isn’t the “criticism” that should make him think twice? It is the feeling that your American Brother was just be-headed and I should not be golfing

  2. what difference does it makes he talks and talks no action. the only actions is against any body in the USA who disagrees with him IRS. JUSTICE DEPT. ETC.

  3. Say what you want about George Bush, but at least he WAS a Noisein Be’ol Im Chavero! This man and that wife of his are T A K E R’S! Both are selfish people that are constantly being propped up by the corrupt media! How can one forget what that wife of his said when he was “elected”?

  4. Unfortunately, I must agree with comment #1. Even ignoring Mr. Foley’s execution completely would’ve not communicated “I couldn’t care less” as much as his immediate round of golf did.

  5. That’s exactly the problem with this empty suit. He’s always worried about the ‘optics’. What about the essence of doing such a thing?

  6. one minute everyone. I’m no lover of Obama but what did YOU do after you heard about the beheading? Did you stop and do something meaningful or did you shake your head and go on with your day?

  7. Obama’s “optics” are his lazy cigarette smoking memories and his lesser wrongful first place cow looks for human anticipation. I am quite sure his optics and optician could start to smile better when he steps down from office. Life wont be so pretty for the whales! Never again.

  8. Pres. Obama follows the advice of two famous presidents, but with a twist.
On foreign policy Theodore Roosevelt said “Speak softly and carry a big stick” Obama does the same with a twist. He speaks loudly and carries a little stick.
On domestic policy John F. Kennedy said, “Ask not what you can do for your country, but ask what can you do for your country.” Obama does the same, but with a twist. He says, “Ask not what you can do for your country, but ask what can your country do for you.”

  9. I lisened to de press confrence. Day askd obama to discus de beheading and he ansered “Afta dis press confrence I beheading to de golf corse.” Sho nuff.

  10. You have to remember 75% of the Jews voted for him and 55% would still vote for him believe he is doing a good job. So no one can complain about him, especially the Jews. Maybe they next time do some research into who they voted for before they vote, democratic or republican.

  11. “I’m no lover of Obama but what did YOU do after you heard about the beheading? Did you stop and do something meaningful or did you shake your head and go on with your day”

I don’t remember what I subsequently did but I do know what I would do if I was the elected head of the U.S., especially after giving a speech to address the situation…
