Obama Mulls End to Spying


stop-spyingWhen things have gotten as embarrassing as the U.S. spying on its allies, maybe it is time to throw in the towel on the whole thing.  

The White House is apparently considering putting a stop to the eavesdropping on foreign leaders, a senior administration official said today, just as a report in the Los Angeles Times reports that the White House and the U.S. State Department signed off on the spying themselves.

Not only that, professional staff members at the National Security Agency and other U.S. intelligences services are angry at the White House for selling them down the river as President Obama has tried to distance himself from the scandal.

Meanwhile, Spain joined the growing list of nations unhappy with the program amid reports that NSA monitored 60 million Spanish calls a month. Read more.
