ukraineAs the death toll in Ukraine raises to 26 after the last two days of violence, the White House said it’s mulling sanctions against Kiev’s government and the European Union announced it would host “extraordinary” talks.

President Obama warned “there will be consequences” for anyone who steps over the line in Ukraine, while Secretary of State John Kerry said Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych can end the violence. Meanwhile, Yanukovych fired his army chief. Read more at CNN.

  1. I will be curious if Mr. Obama can strike a deal with American interests in Kiev. Ultimately there is a major about face for the Russians that could presumably be applied for the common wealth of human achievement in this situation. Will Obama be able to curtain the winds of change or just walk without his umbrella in the rain? I have no idea, but we can only hope his office is running with good speed.
