donald-sterling-clippersToday, at a press conference with Malaysia’s prime minister, President Barack Obama called comments reportedly made by Donald Sterling, the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, “incredibly offensive racist statements.”

An audio recording posted on a website has Sterling telling an acquaintance not to bring black people to Clippers games.

“When ignorant folks want to advertise their ignorance you don’t really have to do anything, you just let them talk,” the president said. adding that the remarks were an example of America continuing to deal with the legacy of racism, slavery and segregation, and that Americans have to be “steady and clear in denouncing” discrimination.

  1. This from a guy who sat in a church that spewed antisemitism for 20 years. At the very least he must confront black anti-white hatred in the same way. Unfortunately that wont score him as many political points.

  2. I personally know Mr sterling he is a real baal tzedaka and helps many mosdos in los angeles he is not ignorant and i think obamas comment was very offensive and he should take it back right now

  3. #5 – “He is a big baal tzedaka”…..

He is a mechallel Shabbos, eats chazer-treif a…but he gives tzedakah!

Are you allowed to use his shmutzik gelt or none of the above applies as long as he gives gelt?

  4. to #4 dont make belive like you know him personally and what would be if he would have said dont bring jews to the game then he would be the worst person on the planet

  5. It should be noted that Sterling has a long history of making racist comments and being the defendant in discrimination lawsuits, some of which he has actually lost. As long as his team was awful (which it was for decades) nobody paid any attention.

  6. “you don’t really have to do anything, you just let them talk.’ And so he let rev. Wright spew anti-Semitism while applauding him for twenty years. Let him never lecture on race.

  7. #8, He was born Donald Tokowitz. He (legally)added “Sterling” later on. His parents were reportedly Jewish immigrants.

Notice how Obama is so quick to comment on race stories in the media like with Donald Sterling and with Trayvon Martin. On other issues for great importance, it could be over a week before Americans hear something from “King Canute” Obama.
