Obama: The People of Gaza Need Hope

obama1President Barack Obama said Wednesday that the people of Gaza need greater hope for the future, as he urged the extension of an Israel-Hamas ceasefire. “The US goal right now would be to make sure that the ceasefire holds, that Gaza can begin the process of rebuilding,” Obama told a news conference.

Similarly, he said, Israelis need to “feel confident that they’re not going to have a repeat of the kind of rocket launchers that we’ve seen over the last several weeks.”

Obama said that the United States was supporting ceasefire talks but added: “Long-term, there has to be a recognition that Gaza cannot sustain itself permanently closed off from the world.”

Ordinary Palestinians living in the impoverished, blockaded Hamas-ruled territory need to “have some prospects for an opening of Gaza so that they do not feel walled off,” Obama said.

Obama reiterated his concern over civilians killed in the conflict. His stance has drawn unusually sharp rebukes from politicians in Israel.

“I have no sympathy for Hamas. I have great sympathy for ordinary people who are struggling within Gaza,” Obama said.

“I think Abu Mazen is sincere in his desire for peace, but they (the Palestinian Authority) have also been weakened, I think, during this process,” Mr Obama said, referring to Abbas by his nom de guerre.

“The populations in the West Bank may have also lost confidence or lost a sense of hope in terms of how to move forward,” he said.

  1. Cistern are smarter than a president with a divided eye and an impoverished heart. Maybe if we are lucky, Americans can move on and improve their feelings after this presidency. Bush 43 wasn’t too hard. We just played more tunes. I am afraid that moving on from Obama will require playing more Chess and then praying that the dog doesn’t swallow your rook. Mr. Obama is not healthy to serve this term out. I focus my prayers today on hoping he resigns for personal needs of family and self velocity. Overall, I could not think his family must feel well with his lapsed vindication over unoccupied distress. (His conversation). He really can not list three things he has said in his presidency that children will repeat in 59 years. Dig your ditches now. The dog needs somewhere to lay.

(Dog is an analogy to Obama’s prayers. The chess game is how deep we are in public humiliation. Bush’s musical rehashment just implies that the bad days are over and our front pages are not crying “thief” anymore.).

  2. HE IS ””GIVING”’ 50 BILLION US DOLLARS FOR THE HOPE OF MASHAAL AND HANEYEH AND ABBAS….
CARTER SAYS HAMAS IS A GOOD PEOPLE
NANCY PELOSI SAYS HAMAS IS A HUMANITARIUM ORGANIZATION

BUT THEY COMPLAIN ABOUT ISRAEL 3 BILLION USD LOAN
NOT OF 3 BILLION TO EGYPT
    NOT OF BILLIONS TO IRAQ
    NOT OF BILLIOB TO SYRIA
NOT TO BILLIONS SPENT AND GIVEN TO AFGHANISTAN

BUT THE ONLY COUNTRY THAT CONTRIBUTES TO SOCIETY IN THE WAY OF MEDICINE TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION TO IMPROVE HUMANITY…………
    THEY COMPLAIN

  3. Thats why your polls are so low because you gave us hope ,be ashamed that the country feels you are the weakest US president in history together with carter

  4. Extend what ceasefire? The Palestinians brokered this one in the beginning and they broke it before it ended. The Israelis are more than happy to extend any ceasefire as long as Hamas also ceases.
