obamaWeeks in advance of his State of the Union address, President Obama plans to break from tradition and travel across the country to promote different themes of his upcoming speech.

Typically, the president discloses the content of the speech the day before to increase news value, then hits the road. But on Wednesday, Obama will embark on a three-day, three-state trip to lay out new executive actions and policy proposals.

In Tennessee, he will address higher education; in Arizona, housing; and in Michigan, the president will talk about jobs. Read it at New York Times.
