The West Bank town of Beitar Illit recently named its new streets after a number of gedolei Yisroel including Rav Avrohom Yitzchok Kohn, the Divrei Emunah of Toldos Aharon who passed away twenty years ago. Many Toldos Aharon followers objected to the honor.

A Toldos Aharon follower explained to Channel 2 that the rebbe always strongly opposed living in West Bank settlements.

“We will do everything possible to reverse this,” the man added. “Look in his seforim that the street is named after; every few pages he weeps at the existence of the independent Jewish state, which is a rebellion against malchus shomayim.

The city named a street after him because dozens of its families are followers of the rebbe‘s oldest son, Rav Shmuel Yaakov Kohn, rebbe of Toldos Avrohom Yitzchok.
