Officials Ask Court to Revive NSA Spying

protest-nsaThe Guardian reports that U.S. officials will attempt to use part of the USA Freedom Act—the law President Obama signed on Tuesday which bans the bulk collection of phone records—to temporarily revive NSA spying.

A secret surveillance court will be asked to restart the program in order to “transition” domestic surveillance efforts to phone companies, which will now retain the call detail records that the NSA used to collect. Read more at The Guardian.
