Officials ID American Killed in Egypt

egypt-protestsThe identity of the American citizen killed in Friday’s protests in Cairo has been released to the public. Andrew Driscoll Pochter was a 21-year-old college student from Maryland. He was in Egypt to teach English and improve his own Arabic.

Although the State Department advised against nonessential travel to the country on Friday, Pochter was already in Cairo when the protests began. He was allegedly watching the protests when he was stabbed by a participant. Read more at The Washington Post.

Was he a Yid? Pochter sounds German/Jewish

Might be a Jew. A news report said he was active at his college’s Hillel. There may be a back story that is being covered up.
