ny-lottoNY State officials say New York gamblers plunked down a record $9.1 billion on state-sanctioned lottery games in 2012.

That’s up a billion dollars from the previous year, according to the AP.

There were some huge Powerball jackpots this year, including a $587 million prize in November.

  1. Reverse Robin Hood.
Takes from the poor & gives to the rich.
All these billions is money which the government gave to the poor for food & shelter.
It gets sucked up & redistributed in a most nonsensical way.
