Ohel “Bar Mitzvah-Que” Annual BBQ With Shloime Dachs Tonight

shloime-dachsShloime and Libby Dachs invite all Matzav.com readers to join them for a delicious BBQ and siyum today, erev Rosh Chodesh Av, at the Agudah of Avenue L (Nostrand Avenue and Avenue L in Flatbush). The evening, termed the “Bar Mitzvah-Que,” is dedicated to helping foster children at Ohel celebrate upcoming bar mitzvahs. Proceeds of the evening will be used towards the Ohel Simcha Fund and sponsor bar mitzvahs for Ohel foster children.

The evening will begin at 7:00 p.m., with a siyum by Shloime Dachs at 7:30 p.m. sharp. The evening will feature entertainment, giveaways, and raffles.

Shloime is a loyal and dedicated Ohel board member. Whether Shloime is singing on behalf of Ohel Bais Ezra or inviting clients to share in a weekly pizza party or BBQ, he and Libby are counted among Ohel’s most dedicated volunteers.

    nebach we live in a time that this is what atracts the crowd you want a big turn out so you make a siyum and eat fleishig during the nine days that being said i know shloime personally he is a very erliche guy giving himself for the klal he just has to do this

ANYWAY I WAS ONCE IN A CAMP THAT MADE A SIYUM EVERY NIGHT OF THE NINE DAYS THEY HAD A CHASHUVE ROV AFTER HIS FIRST YEAR THERE HE SAID TO THE DIRECTERS LOOK AT THE MESSAGE YOUR SENDING TO THE KIDS SO BH THEY STOPPED AND HAD MILCHIGS EVERY NIGHT YES ITS NOT SO TASTY YOU KNOW WHAT FOR CRYING OUT LOUD THE BEIS HAMIKDASH WAS DESTRORED!!!

  3. Am I missing something? The article said, “today, erev Rosh Chodesh Av.” Not the nine days, at least when it started, and I would bet the fl. was cleared away at shkia.

    Choshuv that they had a siyum at the event, even if it wasn’t the nine days. Definitely added a positive dimension to an already important function.
